The real reason for WWE not choosing Minneapolis, Minnesota as the host city for WrestleMania 41 has been revealed.
The company has now confirmed that WrestleMania 41 will emanate from Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on April 19 and 20, 2024.
While reports had indicated that WrestleMania would be visiting Nevada next year, Minneapolis, Minnesota was also previously named as a frontrunner to host the Show of Shows.
Speaking with the StarTribune, President and Chief Executive of Minnesota Sports and Events Wendy Backshaw revealed that WWE informed them that they won’t be hosting the event due to a “change in direction by new ownership”.
Backshaw said:
“We were informed by WWE that Minnesota would not host WrestleMania in 2025 due to a change in direction by new ownership.
“Although disappointed, we are in discussions with WWE about future events in Minnesota. We are optimistic that Minnesota will host WWE events here in the future.”
WWE has announced that during WrestleMania week, Raw, SmackDown, NXT Stand & Deliver, WWE World and the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in Las Vegas.
