On April 19, a number of WWE stars were released from their contracts on a list that included Xia Li, the company’s first female Chinese star.
As previously reported, the list also included Jinder Mahal and his Indus Sher teammates, Veer Mahan and Sanga, along with Xyon Quinn.
Li has confirmed that she will be taking independent bookings on July 18, marking the end of a 90-day non-compete clause.
She also announced a name change, going under the name “Xia Lee” according to her Twitter name and email address.
Chelsea Green, Kairi Sane and IYO SKY were among the WWE stars who sent messages of support to the former Xia Li.
There was also love from AEW with messages coming from Deonna Purrazzo and Taya Valkyrie.
In her message marking the end of her time in WWE, Lee thanked the company and Triple H on Twitter.
She would comment on being given the “trust and the opportunities” to “break barriers” during her time in WWE.
Lee would go on the thank her coaches, colleagues and the staff before thanking the WWE fans for their support.
I am pleased to announce that I am now accepting bookings for matches and signing events starting July 18th. For all inquiries, please contact me at
