Chris Jericho All In Plans Revealed
Chris Jericho made a shocking appearance at All In a couple of weeks ago, seemingly going back on what he told Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes that he wouldn’t wrestle an American show as he felt that was WWE’s territory. He has since revealed on his Talk is Jericho podcast that he did firmly believe that, but he has been enjoying himself so much in this “new revolution” of pro wrestling that he changed his mindset. He had initially turned Cody and the Young Bucks down, but a second call to him a couple of months before the show went slightly differently. Jericho revealed that the original pitches were to either reveal him as Bernard the Business Bear in the main event, or have him attack Kota Ibushi. However Jericho didn’t want to attack The Golden Star as he doesn’t have any matches with him planned down the line. He does however have a match with Kenny Omega on Rock N Wrestling Rager At Sea, and he was very interested in keeping that feud going. According to Jericho, it was Nick Jackson who suggested that he dress up as Pentagon Jr. and attack Omega after their match – which was moved from second from top to third from top.
This is because ohe of the reason Jericho’s All In appearance was so surprising – because his band Fozzy were doing a gig on that same day in Kansas – which was 500 miles away from Chicago. According to Jericho the only people who knew about him showing up were Cody, The Bucks and a handful of others – even calling out his friend Don Callis for claiming that he knew saying that he actually didn’t. But the secret nearly got out just as the show started. Jericho revealed that on the same flight to Chicago was a fan wearing a Bullet Club t-shirt who had snapped a picture of Y2J on the plane. Jericho’s partner in crime Jack Slade then chased after him after they landed and asked him to delete the photos to keep the surprise – which thankfully he did.
