I was going to write that SmackDown Live looks a bit dull this evening, but after the excitement of Dean Ambrose’ return on Raw last night, clearly I know nothing at all.
Who know, maybe Dana Brooke will be drafted and be inserted into the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship match at SummerSlam. The possibilities are endless.
But judging by WWE’s own preview, in which they generally try and hype the un-hypeable, even they seem to have written the show off as filler before Sunday.
Their main headline is that AJ Styles has more to get off his chest…well if that’s not enough to get you off your seats I don’t know what is.
Although he’s a perfectly capable promo, AJ’s mic-work last week was a bit sub-par, and when placed next to Samoa Joe, who could frankly fart into a microphone and it would be the best promo that week, he just looks weak.
It’s needless to say that their match at SummerSlam is one of the most exciting things on the card, but this endless promo shoot-out has stagnated what should have been a very firey feud.
Hey, guess what, SAniTy are going to lose again. They’ve been booked against the tag title number one contenders, The New Day, so unless this (which is entirely possible) gets interrupted by Harper and Rowan and hammers, or if the plan is to insert SAniTy into the title match for some reason, Kofi, Xavier and Big-E will be the ones celebrating when the bell rings.
Poor SAniTY. I often wonder if they meet up with The Authors of Pain and The Revival to reminisce about the old days when they actually won something.
The Rest
- Carmella, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair come face to face. Heel turn coming?
- Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville are getting an opportunity…to do what, who knows?
- Aiden English will lose to Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas.
