A combination of the usual post-PPV bump and WWE’s strategy of advertising Vince McMahon’s return to the show to “shake things up” saw Raw post its best rating in several weeks.
The 17/12 episode pulled 2.547 million viewers, the highest since mid-October.
The number is up significantly from last week’s all-time low 2.194 million.
The first hour hit 2.717 million, dropping to 2.588 for the second hour, which is the highest second hour number in two months, and falling to a respectable 2.367 million in hour three.
The latter number is especially interesting considering WWE ran a gauntlet match for almost the entirety of the final hour.
The next two weeks are expected to be at all-time low levels due to taking place on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, two of the worst nights of the year for television, so little attention will be paid to those numbers.
