And you thought this coming episode of WWE Raw couldn’t get any more stacked. You thought wrong. It was previously noted that Finn Balor would be taking on Bobby Lashley on this week’s episode of Raw, but WWE have revealed that match will now be for the Intercontinental Championship.
After Balor’s physical encounter with Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble last Sunday, he then suffered a beatdown from “The All Mighty” Bobby Lashley the night after. Balor is looking for his redemption and could do so by picking up his first championship on the main roster since becoming the inaugural Universal Champion in 2016.
Interestingly enough, when this match was first announced, it made no mention of it being for the title. The tweet in question then changes that, mentioning the Intercontinental Championship. Whether this is a mistake or not will become clear on Raw tomorrow night.
There a whole host of other segments scheduled for the show, including but not limited to:
- Kurt Angle addressing his future
- Becky Lynch appearing courtesy of an invite from Stephanie McMahon
- Jeff Jarrett competing in his first match on Raw since 1999
- Women’s Tag Team Championship Qualifying Match
Bobby Lashley picked up the Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat on the January 14 episode of Raw, pinning Dean Ambrose. While his reign has only lasted three weeks, could it be time for Balor to become champion?
