The Young Bucks teased the signing of one of their indie rivals on the most recent episode of Being The Elite. At the end of the episode, Nick and Matt Jackson debated whether they should bring in another team to AEW. As the shot quickly cut away, a screenshot was visible on Nick’s phone. After careful deliberation, the photo reveals the Super Smash Bros.
The Young Bucks and the Super Smash Bros. have clashed many times over the years. The two teams competed extensively in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in 2012, while also having matches in Evolve, SMASH, and most recently Ring of Honor. Their last match together was in May of 2018 at the ROH/NJPW War of the Worlds event.
The Super Smash Bros. have worked extensively with CHIKARA over the years, making their debut there in 2007. Since then they have gone on to work recurring roles in PWG and ROH.
If they were to be signed to AEW, they would join the Young Bucks, SoCal Uncensored, The Best Friends, and the Lucha Bros. in the growing AEW tag team division.
