Wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson was released from the company in February 2019. It was later reported that Anderson was fired after allowing Alicia Fox to wrestle at a live event while drunk. Anderson’s departure was followed up by the announcement that the Four Horsemen member would be appearing at Conrad Thompson’s Starrcast II convention over Double or Nothing weekend.
Many thought we would get the chance to hear Arn’s side of the story with regards to his WWE departure at Starrcast II. However, he revealed during the convention that he signed a deal with the company after he was released which prohibits him from discussing the details of his firing. However, he did urge fans to “not believe everything they hear”:
“I wish I could talk about it but the fact is, I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement when I left. You’re going to hear a lot of stuff online but don’t believe everything you hear. The people that know me, know the situation. I’m not [upset about leaving]. It was a great, stable environment for my family and myself but it’s a difficult place to work. The pressure is unbelievable. The hours are unbelievable. The travel is something. I don’t want to be anywhere where I’m not wanted. After 37 years, I think I deserve more than that.”
Another recently released WWE backstage agent and fellow Four Horsemen member Dean Malenko has been signed to AEW as a producer and coach. It is unknown at this time if Arn Anderson will be following Malenko into working backstage with All Elite Wrestling.
