Following their match at SummerSlam, Goldberg shared a video on social media showing he and Dolph Ziggler having what was clearly a staged fight in a Las Vegas restaurant.
A report then emerged suggesting that Goldberg would return on the “season premiere” of Raw next week, attacking Dolph Ziggler and setting up another match between the pair.
However, Dave Meltzer is reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has no plans to book a rematch between Goldberg and Dolph Ziggler in the near future.
“We were told that right now there are no plans to do anything with the incident on television nor are there any plans to bring them back as a feud. So it sounds like they were just shooting their own angle for publicity.”
Based on the fact that WWE hasn’t shared the clip of the ‘fight’ to their various social media accounts, it was quite clear that there were no plans for the pair to clash anytime soon.
However, Goldberg will definitely be returning to WWE TV next week as part of Smackdown’s 20th-anniversary show for the FOX debut.
WWE Hall of Famers Ric Flair and Sting will also be appearing on the FOX broadcast, as will The Undertaker.
