After debuting on Raw in 2004, John Morrison won the ECW World Championship, Intercontinental Championship, WWE Tag Team Championship and World Tag Team Championship. He left the company in 2011.
Now WWE has confirmed on the FS1 studio show WWE Backstage that Morrison has signed a new deal and will be returning to the company in the near future.
BREAKING:
As reported by @RyanSatin on ‘The Satin Sheet’, former @WWE Intercontinental Champion @TheRealMorrison is making his return to @WWE! #WWEBackstage pic.twitter.com/ZXhmkaEn6N— WWE on FOX (@WWEonFOX) December 4, 2019
The news was confirmed by Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin on ‘The Satin Sheet’.
This comes after months of reports that the former Lucha Underground and Impact World Champion had decided to rejoin Vince McMahon’s company despite interest from AEW.
Morrison has taken to Twitter to comment on the news. He added that he “can’t wait to stand in a WWE ring oppoaite the most talented people in the business”.
Confirmed ✅ I have signed with @WWE – I’ve never been as good at anything as I am at wrestling & I can’t wait to stand again in a #WWE ring opposite the most talented people in the business‼️

There is no word on which brand John Morrison will be assigned to, or when he will be completing his return to WWE TV. Stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest.
While it is great to hear that Morrison will be back in a WWE ring before too long, I wish the company saved his return as a surprise for a big episode of Raw or SmackDown, or even a pay-per-view.
Having the return announced on WWE Backstage really dilutes it and ruins what could have been a monster pop.
