Five years ago today the world lost Dusty Rhodes. He was a titan of the wrestling industry, having inspired a generation of fans with his legendary performances. Now, his sons Cody and Dustin Rhodes have posted tweets reflecting on the loss of their father.
Both men were in WWE when Dusty passed, working as Goldust and Stardust respectively. Now, they both find themselves in prominent positions in All Elite Wrestling.
Thanks for the best childhood, thanks for allowing me to play in your game – I hate this day and I hate that you’re missing all of this.
Your shadow is far from a burden. It’s a warm and comforting place that although I aim to escape, I still love and value being Dusty’s kid. pic.twitter.com/pnQwUVPrx6

Cody is current the AEW TNT Champion in addition to being one of AEW’s Executive Vice Presidents. Being a wrestler and being involved in the office is something he and Dusty shared and it is something Cody has talked about at length. So far, Cody has done an admirable job of balancing the two.
Dustin Rhodes recently announced his intention to open a wrestling school. He and QT Marshall have an AEW World Tag Team Championship match next week. If they win it will mark Dustin’s first gold in almost six years.
