WWE has announced the return of Shane McMahon, effective tonight on Raw. McMahon has been off television since Smackdown’s debut on Fox when he lost a Loser Leaves WWE Ladder Match to Kevin Owens.
There has been no word on what McMahon will be doing tonight on Raw. WWE made the announcement of his return earlier today on Twitter.

McMahon had been a heel when he left the company last time. He primarily feuded with Kevin Owens, who is now on Raw. The two may reignite their rivalry as Owens hasn’t had much direction since defeating Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.
McMahon had declared himself the “Best in the World” after winning a tournament in Saudi Arabia in 2018. This was the catalyst of his heel turn, which lasted until his departure.
WWE has commented that they want to build new stars going forward. We will have to see if the return of Shane McMahon plays into that at all. It was reported earlier today that WWE was completely unorganized backstage in preparation for Raw tonight. Whether they will be able to figure things out by the time the show airs remains to be seen.
