I’m sure you’re sick of reading stories about Vince McMahon losing interest in wrestlers or perhaps killing promising pushes, so it’s nice to know that sometimes Vince actually likes people who aren’t Charlotte Flair or Roman Reigns.
According to Bryan Alvarez on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live, WWE is currently very high on new NXT star Ridge Holland, who made his NXT TV debut on last night’s episode in a triple threat which also featured Damian Preist and Oney Lorcan.
According to Alvarez, “WWE think that he has the potential to be the next big thing.”
Holland has previously appeared at several NXT house shows, but his last televised match was back in March on NXT UK. Holland is English, and is a former Rugby star who turned to wrestling in 2016.
There’s no hiding the fact that Holland is a bit of a meat mountain, and while he’s not the most experienced in ring performer, he’s certainly got a presence about him which will surely have Vince McMahon very excited.
While he didn’t win on his NXT debut, he was protected during the match, mainly taking part in a number of power spots. Lorcan struggled to take him down throughout the fight, and it’s clear Holland is being viewed as a bit of a monster on Wednesday nights.
