Impact Wrestling has had a number of stars depart the promotion this year, including former world champions Brian Cage and Tessa Blanchard. Now, two more stars have left the company.
PWInsider is currently reporting that Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes have both left the company. The report also states that Van Dam had been working without an official contract for some time. They had been working on a series of short-term agreements.
Van Dam and Forbes would now be able to appear wherever they choose. Van Dam has been open about not wanting to to return to WWE so unless that has changed, don’t expect that to be his next destination.
His last feud in Impact Wrestling was against Sami Callihan. In a recent interview with Wrestlinc Inc. Van Dam mentioned that if he were to leave Impact he wouldn’t be upset by it. Clearly, he is not torn up about leaving the company.
Van Dam returned to Impact Wrestling at United We Stand in 2019. It was his first appearance since leaving the promotion back in 2013 when it was still known as TNA Wrestling.
