It seems like WWE could be planning on breaking-up one of its key factions, as PWInsider is reporting that there are currently plans to turn NXT stars Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole into babyfaces.
However, the report notes that the current plan does not see Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish turning face too, possibly indicating that WWE is planning on splitting-up the Undisputed Era:
As you may have surmised from tonight’s WWE NXT, Adam Cole wrestling Austin Theory tonight is indeed the beginning of Cole being shifted into a babyface role for the brand. WWE began slowly teasing it after his loss to Finn Balor.
PWInsider.com has been told by multiple sources the plan is for Kyle O’Reilly to also shift into a full fledged babyface going forward.
As of this writing, the rest of Undisputed Era, Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish are not slated to follow, so it will be interesting to see where WWE NXT goes with the faction and how they will be presented going forward.
While the report does not explicitly state that the current plan is for the Undisputed Era to split, it’s hard to see a world where the group co-exists while two of the members are babyfaces, while the other two are heels.
If this report is to be believed, then it’s highly likely that we are going to see Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly vs. Bobby Fish & Roderick Strong in a tag match at some point in the near future, which is a rather exciting prospect.
