It is still expected to be a few more months before WWE allows fans back regularly for shows, but it has been reported that people within the company desperately want fans back for the Royal Rumble at the end of the next month.
Given the nature of the show, and the fact that it is arguably the pay-per-view that fans enjoy the most every year, you can totally understand why WWE wants fans back then, even if it is just for the one show.
Reliable Twitter source WrestleVotes is reporting that WWE is hoping to have a decision on fans being able to attend the Rumble by early January. They may even make an announcement that weekend:
Internally, WWE is said to want a decision on whether fans are permitted for the Royal Rumble by January 7th w/ a possible announcement of sorts coming that weekend. Source states odds are 50/50 right now. Important month ahead.
In a subsequent tweet, the source noted that WWE has the 2020 Royal Rumble match internally listed as taking place on January 31 this year, meaning we should know three weeks ahead of time if fans are going to be at the Royal Rumble.
For any additional updates and reports on what WWE has planned for the 2021 Royal Rumble next month and the possibility of fans being at the show, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
