New details have emerged regarding the contract status of Raw star Matt Riddle. According to Dave Meltzer, his current deal is set to expire in August 2021.
Meltzer reported the details in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter where he said the deal was expiring in August but WWE is working on getting him signed to a new deal. The report said the word is that Riddle has pretty much agreed to another three-year deal.
The new deal would reportedly be for $400,000 per year guaranteed plus $50,000 for every Saudi Arabia show. It should be mentioned these details have not been confirmed by WWE.
Riddle signed a three-year deal with WWE back in 2018. He soon appeared in the crowd at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV and debut on NXT soon after. Since then, he won the NXT Tag Team Championship with Pete Dunne and was called up to the main roster this May.
On the main roster, he hasn’t had much success. A recent report stated that Vince McMahon “doesn’t get” Riddle but finds him funny. It is for this reason that he has remained on the show every week.
