Reports emerged this week suggesting that WWE is hoping to have fans at Raymond James Stadium for WrestleMania in April, something that Stephanie McMahon confirmed in an interview with TMZ Sports this week.
Now Dave Meltzer has revealed how many fans WWE is hoping to have at the stadium for their biggest pay-per-view event of the year in a few months time.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE is hoping to have 30,000 fans at stadium for each night of the WrestleMania 37 event
Inside WWE, the plan looks to be to put 30,000 people in the building both nights. If the Super Bowl puts in more, they’ll likely put in more. But that was the legit goal as of early in the week.
Interestingly, Meltzer notes that if the Super Bowl has more than 30,000 fans next month, then WWE will likely look to increase that amount of people at the show.
The capacity for Raymond James Stadium is just shy of 66,000, so WWE would be looking to fill the venue at 45% capacity for WrestleMania, which won’t be the easiest task given COVID safety protocols that need to be followed.
