WWE Producer Tyson Kidd has reacted to reports stating that a former WWE Tag Team Champion is set to return.
It was previously reported that Davey Boy Smith Jr was in “serious discussions” to return to WWE. Tyson Kidd has noted that he has been trying to get Smith to come back ever since he left.
Speaking on That 90’s Wrestling Podcast, Kidd stated that he doesn’t know anything official regarding Smith’s possible return. Hoping for a WWE reunion with his close friend and former tag partner, Kidd said:
“I don’t know anything officially. He’s been gone for a decade and I’ve been trying to get him back the entire time. I think Harry has changed a lot in the last 10 years and I think WWE has changed a lot in the last 10 years.
“Hopefully both will be happily surprised with how much the other has changed, and I hope it goes down. Hopefully the pandemic has forced Harry’s hand (laughing). That’s how I’m looking at it.”
Davey Boy Smith Jr last competed at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 6 in April. At Bloodsport 5 in February, Smith fought AEW star Jon Moxley, losing via TKO.
Following his wrestling retirement, Kidd transitioned into a producer role. Natalya recently revealed that Kidd volunteered to produce every women’s match at WrestleMania 37.
