It sounds like deathmatch wrestler and all around lunatic Nick Gage could potentially return to AEW in the future.
Gage has had one match for the promotion to date, which was against Chris Jericho in July, and that didn’t come without its fair share of controversy.
Despite said controversy, it sounds like the idea of Nick Gage returning hasn’t been ruled out, as Nick Mondo believes the door is open for that to happen.
Speaking with Wrestling Inc, Mondo – who has been filming GCW content with Gage recently – said:
“When we shot in the prison, that was just two days before he faced Jericho, so I got to kind of chat with him leading up to that. He was calm, and he was cool about it. Saw it as a real opportunity and it was. I don’t know this, but I believe they might be doing a bit more of the hardcore stuff on Rampage, and so maybe you’ll see Gage again. I don’t know, but I believe they’re going to do some more of that. But I think all of us are just so happy to see him get that opportunity.”
Obviously there’s not too much to read into Mondo saying that, but he certainly hasn’t heard that it won’t be happening, which some people thought may have been the case after pizza-gate.
There was a hardcore unsanctioned tag team match on Rampage at Arthur Ashe Stadium, which saw Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley beat Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki.
Moxley himself beat Gage this past weekend in a deathmatch to retain the GCW World Championship.
