UPDATE: William Regal has since reacted to this report, noting that he’s healthier than he has been in years. More at this link.
Following his AEW debut, it has been reported that William Regal is currently dealing with some serious health issues.
Regal made his first appearance for AEW during last weekend’s Revolution pay-per-view, stopping a brawl between Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.
On Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite, Regal cut an emotional promo on his past, present and future. The 53 year-old made references to his age, and noted that his time left in the business is limited on multiple occasions during the promo.
Per the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Regal will provide details on his serious health issues on next week’s edition of Talk is Jericho:
“Regal’s health issues at this stage are far more serious than have ever come out and there is an interview that will be released next week that he did for Talk is Jericho that will detail them.”
Regal last wrestled a full match in 2013, facing off against Cesaro on an episode of NXT.
We wish Regal the very best at this time.
