AEW President Tony Khan has revealed when fans should expect the next Blood & Guts match to take place.
The inaugural Blood & Guts match, inspired by WarGames, took place on a May 5 edition of AEW Dynamite, and saw The Pinnacle battle The Inner Circle.
Speaking with Marc Raimondi of ESPN, Khan teased the return of the match stipulation, noting:
“I’d say to expect Blood & Guts this summer.”
Khan was also asked about the possibility of another Stadium Stampede match. Explaining that this stipulation was a product of the pandemic, Khan said:
“That I’ll have to get back to you on. I’ve thought about it. It’s a very different wrestling world now than it was during the pandemic. I think it’s a great match, a signature match for us that people really enjoyed.
“But some of the reasons we presented that match were because of the challenges that existed in the world because of the pandemic, as far as presenting sporting events with live fans. That doesn’t really exist in this live-event pandemic.”
Tony Khan has had an eventful month, after announcing that he owns ROH at the beginning of March. Samoa Joe made his AEW debut on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite, after his surprise appearance at ROH Supercard of Honor.
