Gunther revealed that he reassembled Imperium on the WWE main roster ahead of his Intercontinental Championship bout at Clash At The Castle.
After Sheamus made his entrance with Ridge Holland and Butch, Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci, formerly known as Fabian Aichner, introduced Gunther.
In an odd move, the former Aichner was referred to as ‘Giovanni Vinci’, which was his name after his gimmick change, after Kaiser and Gunther were called up to the main roster in April.
Vinci officially left Imperium on the April 5 edition of NXT, walking out on Kaiser (fka Marcel Barthel) during a tag team match.
Giovanni Vinci officially re-debut under his new name on the June 14 edition of NXT 2.0. He has earned wins over the likes of Andre Chase and Apollo Crews since then.
His last appearance for the brand came on the NXT Heatwave special in a loss to Carmelo Hayes for the North American Championship.
Vinci is the latest NXT star to be called up to the main roster following Triple H taking over WWE creative in July.
