The recent backstage issues in All Elite Wrestling have, in some aspects, taken some attention away from the company’s still very good on-screen product, but has also opened the company up to some valid criticism.
The frequency of incidents getting physical backstage in the company continues to increase, with another altercation taking place just last week before Dynamite, when Andrade El Idolo was sent home following an altercation with Sammy Guevara which stemmed from social media.
AEW have taken steps to improve backstage morale, such as hiring new talent relations executives, and stars such as Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson stepping up as locker room leaders.
Another locker room leader in AEW is Matt Hardy, who appeared on Busted Open Radio with some advice to the AEW talent that have issues with another member of the locker room.
He said:
“The best advice I can give anyone — if you have an issue with something or someone, go to them directly and talk it out. When people harbor resentment towards someone else, that’s when bad things happen. You have to get it out. You have to be forthright, and really address these scenarios and situations.”
Guevara was not sent home from last week’s Dynamite show, remaining a part of the main event tag team match, which saw he and Chris Jericho of the Jericho Appreciation Society defeat Bryan Danielson and ROH Pure Champion Daniel Garcia.
