Former WWE Diva’s Champion Saraya (Paige) made her AEW debut at the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam show at Arthur Ashe Stadium last month, when she confronted Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter and Serena Deeb following the interim AEW Women’s World Championship match.
At the time, Saraya had not yet been cleared to compete in the ring following her retirement back in 2018, but she has since been cleared by AEW doctors.
Saraya being cleared seemingly puts her on course for an inevitable clash with Britt Baker, presumably at the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view next month, but Britt isn’t the only AEW star she’s hoping to step in the ring with.
Saraya appeared on Talk Is Jericho, speaking about her AEW arrival, and who in the company she was hoping to work with.
She said:
“Britt, 100%. I know she gets used a lot, but she’s really good. I really want to get in the ring with Nyla (Rose). I love Sonny (Kiss). I know she’s working in the male division, but I would love to work her eventually. Jade (Cargill) looks really impressive, I’m not really familiar with her wrestling style as much yet because she’s so new. I’m looking forward to seeing where she goes. Jamie Hayter, I think she’s fantastic. People love her. They really want her to be babyface. I’m like, ‘You should really keep this going for a long time.’ There are so many different women I look forward to working with.”
Saraya spoke in the interview about why she opted to sign with AEW over WWE, confirming that Triple H had reached out to her about a potential return before she arrived in AEW.
