A former AEW star has revealed who he believes beat MJF for the “Performer of the Year” award.
As 2022 winds down, many fans are trying to figure out who was the best over the past 12 months.
For the “Performer of the Year” award, there are many who feel MJF should be a leading candidate. However, Bobby Fish is not one of them.
On the latest edition of The Undisputed Podcast, Fish explained why MJF is not his pick. He said:
“As far as ‘performer of the year,’ I feel like that is something that is probably in his future as well.”
“I don’t think this was the year, not so much because of anything he didn’t do, but just because of the strength of some other people’s performances, I had to go a different direction.”
The former Undisputed Era member did note that he was very intrigued in the storyline surrounding MJF, but he feels a lot of what he does is for shock value.
Praising his pick, Bobby Fish revealed that his choice for “Performer of the Year” would be Sami Zayn. He stated:
“He’s one of one for sure. There’s no comparison. There’s no like, ‘Oh, well he’s like this.’ If you were to describe him to somebody who doesn’t watch, you really wouldn’t bring up anyone else.”
Fish left All Elite Wrestling in August 2022. He has since made appearances for IMPACT Wrestling and in a MMA fight.
