AEW President Tony Khan has commented on the possibility of AEW and WWE working together on a crossover show.
While WWE has worked with other promotions since Triple H took over creative, with Shinsuke Nakamura wrestling for Pro Wrestling NOAH in January, many fans are calling for WWE to hold a full-on crossover event.
Speaking on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast, Khan noted that he’d be open to working with WWE on a similar project.
Khan said:
“It’s something I would certainly be open to, and I think it’s an interesting thing for the future.
“It’s not something that’s ever really been done. They’ve kind of existed in their own space.
“We are working with a lot of wrestling promotions.”
AEW worked with NJPW to present a Forbidden Door crossover card in June 2022.
AEW has worked with the likes of NJPW, DDT-Pro and AAA in the past. WWE star Dominik Mysterio recently revealed that he’s hopeful that he will wrestle for AAA in the future.
Dragon Lee notably announced that he had signed with WWE during an AAA event in December 2022.
