An update has emerged on rumors going around that Paul Levesque (Triple H) and WWE haven’t been happy with SmackDown’s Lacey Evans.
Evans has had a weird few months on TV, having been repackaged numerous times, first by the Vince McMahon regime, and then again by the Levesque regime.
Some have speculated that the constant resets and regular unexplained absences are a ‘punishment’ of sorts for her performances, but it sounds like that isn’t the case.
Fightful Select reports that there’s “nothing” to those rumors that have come from “non-credible” Twitter accounts.
The fact that Evans won a squash match against a local talent on SmackDown this past Friday should also go some way to show that WWE does have plans to give her at least a bit of a push.
Evans’ opponent on SmackDown ‘Carmen Harress’ was actually indie wrestler B3cca, who has wrestled on AEW Dark/Elevation numerous times.
It was obvious from the match that Evans is fully back to being a heel despite one or two of the previous attempts to repackage her leaning into her difficult upbringing and presenting her as a sympathetic figure.
