There has been an important update to a wild case of impersonation impacting a newly debuted WWE star who just recently joined Twitter.
In this new wild west version of Twitter and the abolishment of the former verification check mark system, it can be more confusing than ever who is who online.
Amid the confusion, many WWE stars have urged fans to be wary of fakes however the most common way to tell a ‘real’ account from a ‘fake’ is the creation date and number of followers.
Unfortunately for recently debuted NXT star Dani Palmer, neither of those are going to help her combat an imposter who seems quite intent on their ruse.
Numerous NXT stars have tweeted to confirm the real Dani Palmer account is @DaniPalmer_wwe – NOT @DaniPalmerWWE – in part because an imposter has already taken up that alternate version of the name.
Please never send money, gift cards or anything else to anyone from social media claiming to be a professional wrestler.
Palmer made what was announced as her “debut” on NXT TV last night, although she had actually wrestled twice on NXT TV before that earlier this year.
She defeated Tatum Paxley in last night’s match.
