During his time as an EVP for AEW, Cody Rhodes’ saw something special in a trainee and brought her into the company.
Speaking to Taylor Wilde on the Wilde On podcast, Julia Hart revealed her journey from wrestling training to AEW, revealing:
“So there was nothing in Minnesota for wrestling, and then I saw I think it was an ad for the Nightmare Factory that said apply now. I was like, ‘I think I’ll just try it.’”
Hart initially trained under Ken Anderson at Academy SOPW and had her debut match in November 2019.
The Nightmare Factory was established in 2020 and serves as the school for All Elite Wrestling, with Cody Rhodes and QT Marshall as coaches.
Student showcases have been regularly uploaded to the Nightmare Family YouTube Channel.
Speaking of her involvement in the Nightmare Factory, Hart went on to say:
“I wrote like a fricking essay and then two weeks later, I think it was the day after my birthday, QT’s wife texted me and [asked] if I was still interested.
“I was like ‘Oh my gosh’, I remember I ran outside and told my parents I was moving to Georgia.”
Her parents clearly didn’t mind her moving to Georgia and Hart would make her Nightmare Factory Showcase show debut in March 2021.
“A month later, I moved to Georgia and I started training and then three months after the camp, Cody asked me to come to AEW.
“The Varsity Blonds saw me and were like, ‘Oh my god, she fits our gimmick’ and that was it.”
She would make her AEW debut in May 2021 and appear with Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman Jr & Griff Garrison).
On the May 25 episode of AEW Dark, she would score her first win by pinning Tesha Price.
During the interview, she would also reveal waiting two years to fix a torn labrum and having to adapt to work with the injury.
She is currently a member of the House of Black stable.
