Mercedes Mone Next AEW Opponent Revealed

Mercedes Mone Next AEW Opponent Revealed AEW

During her TBS Championship celebration on Dynamite, the next opponent for Mercedes Mone in AEW was revealed.

After Mercedes Mone beat Willow Nightingale at AEW Double or Nothing to capture her first AEW title in her first AEW match, it seems a new feud has been revealed.

During her in-ring celebration segment, Mone was interrupted by an appearance on the screen by Skye Blue.

When she played a reminder of the backstage attack on Mercedes Mone several weeks ago, it seems that Blue revealed herself as the ‘mysteru’ perpetrator.

Appearing behind Mercedes in the ring, Blue would go on to attack and then hold the TBS Championship over her head as she kept her knee on Mone’s neck, literally.

However fans wouldn’t have to wait long for the match as Tony Schiavone announced that Tony Khan had made a match for tonight.

Mercedes Mone will take on Skye Blue on tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite (May 29).

UPDATE – Mone picked up the win in the match against Blue, before CMLL’s Stephanie Vaquer came onto the stage, seemingly to tease that she could be Mone’s opponent at Forbidden Door.

At the Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, Mercedes Mone informed AEW CEO Tony Khan and NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi that she was willing to defend her TBS Championship at Forbidden Door against a star from NJPW, STARDOM, or anywhere.

We’ll keep you up to date with all the latest developments as AEW ahead of Forbidden Door on June 30, 2024.

Elsewhere on tonight’s show, the Young Bucks are set to make an announcement regarding what’s in store for the future of the TNT Championship.
