LA Knight has found himself riding a massive wave of momentum and fan support in recent months.
The self proclaimed Mega Star defeated Montez Ford in a Money In The Bank qualifier, and is set to head to London to be a part of the match in two weeks time.
Despite this, Knight picked up another defeat to Santos Escobar on this week’s SmackDown show, with the company seemingly looking to keep him heel in spite of the wave of fan support.
On this week’s episode of Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW star Mark Henry spoke about Knight’s popularity, and questioned why the company isn’t ‘pouring gasoline’ on him.
He said:
“It sucks, man, that there have been times, and Bully can attest to that, that somebody gets over naturally and organically, and then they say, ‘Well he’s already getting over, let’s do something with somebody else,’ rather than pile it on that guy. Pour the gasoline on the fire!”
Continuing on, Henry had some advice for Knight, saying that he should speak up about his position in the company.
He added:
“The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Say something, ‘Will y’all do something with me, please? I’m busting my ass, I’m getting over.’”
It was reported several months ago that LA Knight was considered a ‘front runner’ to win this year’s Money In The Bank Ladder match.
