On tonight’s July 3 WWE Raw it wasn’t just Brock Lesnar who made his return to the USA Network, so did Drew McIntyre!
After Matt Riddle won a match against Giovanni Vinci, he was in a vulnerable position with the rest of Imperium (GUNTHER and Ludwig Kaiser) also being at ringside for the match and jumping him after the bell.
However, the Intercontinental Champion wouldn’t be standing tall along with his faction for long as Drew McIntyre made his big return to WWE Raw to chase them off and save Riddle.
In a backstage segment after the match, Riddle was happy McIntyre was back and that he was no longer alone.
Pledging to go hit the town of Baltimore together, the duo left the scene together teasing an on-going alliance as McIntyre has made his intentions against GUNTHER clear.
It was announced that next week on Raw, McIntyre and Riddle will face Vinci and Kaiser in a tag team match.
This will be McIntyre’s first match since WrestleMania 39 in early April.
The plan is for McIntyre to challenge GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Title at SummerSlam on August 5.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE Raw, a top star revealed a facial injury, there was a big return in a choatic opening sequence and one star has revealed an official new nickname.
