A WWE star who has been off TV for over a year has been officially announced for a comeback at an upcoming event.
As announced by WWE India on Twitter, Shanky is set to appear at the Superstar Spectacle event from Hyderabad, India on September 8.
Shanky was featured on the show’s poster when it was first announced, but it’s now very much official as WWE India wrote:
Our very own @DilsherShanky is ready to be unleashed at #WWESuperstarSpectacle in Hyderabad on Sept. 8th!
Shanky’s last appearance on WWE TV came on the July 22, 2022 edition of SmackDown, where he and Jinder Mahal teamed for a losing effort against Erik and Ivar of The Viking Raiders.
Shanky’s WWE bio has not been updated since around the time of his run on SmackDown alongside Mahal, with the 32-year-old not assigned a brand in the latest WWE draft in April.
The Superstar Spectacle show isn’t expected to be broadcast anywhere other than in India itself, with John Cena set to team with Seth Rollins against Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.
In other news pertaining to Superstar Spectacle, a previously anticipated championship match on the event’s card looks to now be in jeopardy following this weekend’s Payback Premium Live Event – to find out more click here.
