WWE NXT Commentator Booker T has stated his belief that Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins need to adopt more serious personas.
Speaking on The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker admitted he’s conflicted about the decision to put Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits in a faction together, questioning whether the trio is works with Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins’ presentation.
Booker explained:
“I’m still conflicted with, you know, Street Profits and Bobby together. I mean it’s a great combination, you know, they got a lot in common. Let’s just say that they’re all brothers. (laughs)
“But, I don’t know, I’m not too fond of the group just because I’m looking for some Deion (Sanders.)
“I’m like coach Prime, I’m looking for some dogs, man, and if you ain’t one of them dogs, you might want to start applying to another university.”
Booker then shared advice that he had given to Ford and Dawkins in the past, something that he still believes they need to take on board to be taken more seriously in WWE.
Booker said:
“I’ve been telling Street Profits they need to turn into some dogs. Ditch the cup, all right? What’s in the damn cup?
“So that’s my thing, it’s time to start putting the Hurt Business on the map.
“It’s time to bring the pain if you’re gonna bring the pain, and quit messing around, you know, and jiving and messing around.”
Booker T may get his wish soon, with a character change teased for the former WWE Tag Team Champions.
On the September 22 episode of SmackDown, the Street Profits lost a tag team match to Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar, despite Lashley lending a hand through some outside interference.
Lashley then gave Ford & Dawkins an ultimatum backstage, stating that he needs them to learn to ‘pull the trigger’ before he finds someone else who will.
A rising WWE star teased an alliance with Lashley following this ultimatum, which you can read more about right here.
