Following Mercedes Mone recently teasing an appearance at AEW Full Gear on November 18, it is being reported that the former WWE star is “expected” to join AEW.
Mone’s ties to AEW have already been established, with the 31-year-old being shown in attendance at AEW All In London on August 27.
While many fans expected some movement on Mone’s AEW future either at that event or shortly thereafter, there has been little to go off as she continues to recover from an ankle injury suffered in a NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship match with Willow Nightingale at NJPW Resurgence.
Speaking the All Out post-show media scrum, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about Mone’s future in AEW to which he said:
“When she’s cleared, that is someone we’re really interested in working with.”
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reported that the move to AEW is “expected” once Mone recovers from her injury.
