With CM Punk having his AEW contracts terminated with cause back on September 2, many fans have been speculating about a potential return to WWE for Punk.
WWE is set to bring Survivor Series to Chicago on November 25, which many fans have speculated to be the date, if any, that Punk would re-emerge on WWE television.
In recent weeks on WWE Raw, several things that could be seen as references to Punk have been spotted on WWE television, including Seth Rollins calling himself the ‘Best in the World’, and Corey Graves quoting ‘the greatest trick the devil ever pulled’ line that Punk also used in his famous ROH promo.
Another potential major hint at Punk took place on last night’s show, when Shinsuke Nakamura hit Ricochet with a Go To Sleep during their brawl on the ramp.
The GTS was famously Punk’s finishing move in WWE, but it was also the finishing move of KENTA (Hideo Itami) before Punk.
Reacting to the clip of Nakamura hitting the GTS on Raw, KENTA responded, posting a hilarious reference to the Punk rumours.
He wrote:
See you at survivor series lol
Corey Graves has commented on the fan reaction to what many believe to be a recent reference to Punk on commentary.
