A new report has revealed AEW’s hopes to have an injured star return soon.
Earlier this summer, Yuka Sakazaki was sidelined with a neck injury. However, the TJPW star made her return to her home promotion recently.
Sakazaki previously announced that she was moving to the United States to start working All Elite Wrestling full-time, ending her run in Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided an update, noting that Yuka Sakazaki was often backstage at AEW events while she was injured.
The report notes that there is hope within AEW that Sakazaki will be back very soon.
Yuka Sakazaki has appeared in AEW since their first show, Double Or Nothing 2019, but she has worked both in the promotion and for TJPW in Japan.
Sakazaki last wrestled in the United States at ROH Supercard of Honor 2023 against Athena for the ROH Women’s World Championship.
WrestleTalk will provide further updates on Yuka Sakazaki’s status with AEW when they become available.
