Former WWE star Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, has shared photos from her match against Kairi Sane from earlier this year.
At NJPW Battle In The Valley, Mercedes Mone defeated KAIRI to win the IWGP Women’s Championship. Mone went on to lose the title to Mayu Iwatani a few months later, and then suffered a serious ankle injury in May 2023.
Meanwhile, Kairi Sane made her return to WWE at Crown Jewel 2023 and has joined Mone’s former tag team partner Bayley in the Damage CTRL stable.
With the former Sasha Banks on the road to recovery, there has been many rumors and reports regarding the possibility of Mercedes Mone making a return to WWE.
On December 1, Mone took to her Instagram story to post photos of her match against Kairi Sane at Battle In The Valley. Bayley also quote tweeted a Mone training video on Twitter with “The greatest is yet to come” today.
This is very interesting timing with WWE announcing that Sane will face Bianca Belair in her first singles match for the company since 2020 on tonight’s December 1 episode of SmackDown.
Meanwhile, Bayley took to social media earlier today to retweet Mone’s video of training again following ankle surgery. She wrote:
The greatest is yet to come
However, Bayley once again let down her Damage CTRL teammates when she was unable to help Kairi Sane defeat Bianca Belair on the December 1 edition of SmackDown.
It remains to be seen whether Mercedes Mone will make her return to WWE at the time of this writing.
WrestleTalk will provide any news and notes from tonight’s WWE SmackDown when they become available.
