Ahead of their upcoming rebrand from IMPACT Wrestling to TNA Wrestling, a former world champion has re-signed with the promotion.
TNA Wrestling have been making some moves in the contract department ahead of their upcoming rebrand in January, with former WWE stars Trent Seven and Kushida both recently being announced as signing with the promotion.
However, another piece of contract news was announced today, as former IMPACT World Champion Eddie Edwards has re-signed with the company.
IMPACT posted the following on Edwards’ re-signing:
“Eddie Edwards is here to stay in TNA Wrestling. As revealed today by PWInsider.com, the former IMPACT World Champion, World Tag Team Champion and X-Division Champion has re-signed with the promotion. Edwards has become one of the faces of TNA since his arrival in 2014, reinventing himself on numerous occasions. As Edwards looks to lead the charge into the new era, what is next for the brawler from Boston?”
Edwards spoke to PWInsider in regards to re-signing, revealing his contract was set to expire in February.
He said:
“I don’t think it’s much of a surprise. don’t think my fans and friends are very much surprised that I’m sticking around. Because everybody knows, how I feel about this company. I think especially right now with the momentum that we have with TNA coming back and all that excitement. For me, it was a no-brainer and I’m very happy to be here and continue being here as long as I’m able to.”
