AEW star and former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi has apologized for his performance in a recent match.
At NOAH The New Year, Kota Ibushi defeated Naomichi Marufuji in the main event. The match has been heavily criticized by fans on social media, with many fans noting that Ibushi looked in rough shape due to injuries.
On Friday, January 5, Ibushi took to social media to apologize to the fans for this bout, noting that he was scammed by a medical place called C5 Clinic. He wrote:
“I was scammed by a place called C5 Clinic, which is spread all over the country, as I mentioned before. Take care of yourself, please.”
“I think NOAH will release information about my surgery, fractures and dislocations, etc. I’m sorry for the match, everyone. It’s all my fault.”
Ibushi was officially signed to All Elite Wrestling in the fall of 2023.
WrestleTalk will provide any further updates on Kota Ibushi’s health status when they become available.
