Soon to be AEW star Will Ospreay has posted an emotional message ahead of his NJPW contract officially expiring.
With just over a month until his final match with the company on February 11, Ospreay shared an image of a special gift received to commemorate his time in the company.
The Aerial Assassin showed off a Japanese flag with ‘ Thank You for 8 Years Will Ospreay’ across the centre, as well as many other messages almost completely covering the rest of the flag.
As well as the flag, the 30-year-old also showed off two other messages, one of which he quoted in his emotional tweet showing off the heartwarming present.
Ospreay said:
“If you about to crash, we will be there to support you, and if it rains on you, we will be your umbrella.”
Reading this note and all the messages brought me to tears in my hotel room.
Thank you all for taking care of me & treating me like family.
Following much speculation regarding his future, Ospreay officially signed with All Elite Wrestling at Full Gear 2023 in November.
This put to an end to a decorated run in NJPW, in which he won the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, United States Championship and the Junior Heavyweight Championship three times among others.
