A top WWE star has said that they are hoping to return in the Royal Rumble match being out of action for several months.
Rey Mysterio lost his United States Championship to Logan Paul back at WWE Crown Jewel in November, when Paul pinned Rey after hitting him with brass knuckles.
Following Rey’s loss, Santos Escobar betrayed him and the LWO, taking him out of action with an attack on Rey’s knee.
The angle was shot in order to write off Mysterio, who had suffered a legitimate injury.
Speaking on Baker Banter, Rey said that he is working hard on his physical therapy, and that he is hoping he can return for the Royal Rumble.
He said:
“I’m really working hard on my physical therapy. I just had knee surgery, thanks to Santos Escobar, and his time will come eventually. I do hope that I can return for the Rumble, if not shortly after that. I am working very hard to make my return as soon as possible.”
