An injured AEW star has provided an update on their recovery amid their ongoing absence from AEW television.
Former AEW International Champion Rey Fenix has been out of action since October, where he lost his title to Orange Cassidy on an episode of Dynamite in October.
Fenix announced on social media ahead of the match that he had been dealing with an ‘old injury’ since he won the title in September from Jon Moxley at AEW Grand Slam.
Speaking to Denise Salcedo, Fenix provided an update on his injury status, saying that he is working on the recovery, and that he hopes to be back in the ring soon.
He said:
“We are working on the recovery. It’s one of my, I think it’s the worst injury. But I’m taking my time. I’m doing a good job in my recovery. I put everything with the doctors. I’m following the doctor’s line. I’m doing my best. And I think, I can’t talk so much about — but soon. Soon I will be in the ring, doing lucha libre, doing the thing that makes me so happy.”
Fenix’s brother Penta El Zero M has been teaming with Komander during his brother’s absence.
