The faction name for Santos Escobar’s WWE stable was revealed on tonight’s episode of SmackDown (January 19).
Taking on his former faction the LWO in a match on tonight’s SmackDown, Santos Escobar’s squad of himself, Humberto and Angel have now revealed their new name.
Well sort of.
The team was announced as ‘Legado Del Fantasma’, resurrecting Escobar’s previous NXT faction name but with an entirely new tag team.
Meanwhile, the former members of the NXT version of LDF (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro) were teaming with Carlito in the match against the trio, still under the Latino World Order banner.
Also still with the LWO squad, Zelina Vega although it is speculated she may have a new client to manage very soon.
With rumors that Andrade el Idolo is returning to WWE, in the event Zelina goes back to working with her former client, a recent tag team break-up could already be priming her replacement.
After NXT saw the tag team of Lola Vice and Elektra Lopez disband, Lopez who notably had a friendly exchange with Wilde and del Toro on a recent episode could be main roster bound – she could, however, join Escobar’s group instead.
Lopez recently had three dark matches ahead of Raw in as many weeks, sometimes an indication that WWE is looking at developmental talent for a potential call-up.
Elsewhere on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, BUTCH appeared for a match against Pretty Deadly with a brand new (old) name as well, as he is officially back to being ‘Pete Dunne’.
