A recently released WWE star has said that a current WWE star has put in the word for them at New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The most recent round of WWE releases took place on September 21, 2023, when many names from WWE’s main roster and NXT were released from their contracts.
One of those names released was Top Dolla of Hit Row, who had only returned to the company back in October 2022.
Following his release, Top Dolla has made appearances for a number of promotions, including MLW and TNA, under his real name AJ Francis.
Taking to Twitter, a fan had asked Top Dolla if he would be interested in working for New Japan Pro Wrestling if the company offered him a shot.
Francis said that WWE’s Shinsuke Nakamura had already put the word in about him to the company.
He wrote:
Uncle Shin already put the word in… life is all about timing.
The remaining two members of Hit Row are still a part of the SmackDown brand, with B-Fab recently joining up with Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits in their rivalry with the Final Testament.
Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis has begun a new tag team with Cedric Alexander.
