There has been an update on rumours online that a popular AEW star’s contract has expired amid speculated WWE interest.
Former AEW World Tag Team and FTW Champion Ricky Starks has not appeared on AEW television since he and Big Bill lost the Tag Team Championship to Sting and Darby Allin.
Since then, rumours emerged on social media that Starks’ contract had since expired, and that he was now a free agent.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), those within AEW said that Starks being a free agent would be news to them, and those close to Starks confirmed that his contract is not up.
The reason for Starks’ current absence from television is not known, but he is still under contract to AEW.
It is not known exactly when Starks’ deal with the company is set to expire.
Sting and Darby are set to defend the AEW Tag Team Championship against the Young Bucks in Sting’s final match at Revolution tonight.
We will provide any updates on Starks’ current situation as they become available.
