A WWE star has reacted to criticism about a botch during a match on last night’s SmackDown (March 15) involving Randy Orton.
Austin Theory has a message for the haters as he channeled a classic television moment to do the talking for him.
Sharing a clip from ‘Modern Family’, the clip notes that while you can criticize a lot of things about the character, his selling is not one of them.
Austin Theory took a Stunner from Kevin Owens and went straight into an RKO from Randy Orton during SmackDown – a moment that some fans criticized for the way Theory jumped into the RKO. You can see a clip of it below.
While the spot on SmackDown looked over the top, later in a backstage clip shared on social media Theory tried to explain why.
Theory’s attempted explanation for the moment to Grayson Waller was that he was trying to avoid the RKO by jumping OVER it, but it didn’t work out.
Waller would encourage Theory to continue to try innovative moves, supporting his tag team partner for trying new things.
After the match where Randy Orton beat Grayson Waller, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis would appear to reveal that at WrestleMania 40, there would be another title match.
Logan Paul will put his United States Championship on the line against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 40.
