WWE Creative member Brian Gewirtz has fired back after a former WWE star criticized Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ segment on SmackDown.
With Reigns set to defend his WWE Undisputed Universal Title against Rhodes at WrestleMania 40, the two stars met in the ring on Friday’s (March 22) SmackDown episode.
While both stars initially promised they’d be alone, the segment concluded with Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso entering, before Jey Uso and Seth Rollins sided with Rhodes to even the odds.
Some fans took to Twitter following the segment to criticise the moment for not being that eventful.
One Twitter user tagged Brian Gewirtz, who represents The Rock in WWE Creative meetings, in a post by former WWE star Val Venis who called out WWE’s “airhead writers” following this segment.
Retweeting the Twitter user’s post tagging him under Venis’ tweet, Gewirtz wrote:
I’d sooner take wrestling advice from one of your many pornbot followers.
They know as much about the business as you, and unlike you they actually work for a living.
As previously reported, Gewirtz is currently the voice representing The Rock in the WWE Creative process.
Brian Gewirtz is a former WWE head writer who notably works for The Rock’s Seven Bucks Productions company as the SVP of Development.
Ahead of Rhodes facing off against Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins are slated to face off against The Rock and Roman Reigns. This match will also take place at WrestleMania 40.
Gewirtz previously publicly criticized a line from a recent Cody Rhodes promo, which you can read more about right here.
