The WWE backstage reaction to AEW airing the CM Punk backstage footage from All In on Dynamite has been revealed.
AEW aired backstage footage of the altercation between CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In at Wembley Stadium that ultimately led to Punk’s termination from the company.
Since his AEW departure, Punk has since returned to WWE at Survivor Series in Chicago back in November, with him now a pivotal part of WWE programming.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), there were plenty of people within WWE talking about the situation, but most of the people that Fightful spoke to were still exhausted after WrestleMania 40 week.
However, there were no particularly surprised reactions or anything that happened that anyone in the company didn’t expect.
CM Punk is not going to be punished, scolded or anything of the like within the company.
There were a few wrestlers who considered the video a ‘self own’, and others who said that they didn’t care and were watching out of curiosity.
There was another shot at CM Punk that was considered for last night’s show, but was ultimately scrapped, which you can see here.
